PERENNIAL RYEGRASS DOUBLE 4N

How is it different from normal perennial ryegrass?

Traditional perennial ryegrasses have two sets of chromosomes while the new 4N ryegrass is tetraploid and therefore has 4 sets of chromosomes.

This allows for greater resistance to stress and diseases (rust, fusarium, helminthosporium, drechslera and red thread)

This variety produces a dark green lawn with a much deeper root system than normal ryegrass.

Thus promoting a reduction in irrigation and greater resistance to disease and consequently a reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers.
